Kavish Desai (Credentials and proposals)

Credentials:-

1. Core Team member of Spring Fest 2009.
2. Initiated the deal with MTV that eventually covered Spring Fest after a span of 10 years.
3. Instrumental in organizing Youth Marathon, completely responsible for the sponsorship deal with GREENPEACE an International NGO which sees environmental.
4. Introduced a Blood Donation Camp in Spring Fest 2009, which added to the social dimension of Spring Fest.
5. During Spring Fest 2009, handled the events held in Tagore Open Air Theatre which includes star nights of KK and Led Zepplica, Wildfire, Hasya Kavi Sammelan, Kharagshetra and Armageddon – the rock nite.
6. Got foreign participation for the first time in Spring Fest in the event Globe Trekker.
7. Publicized Spring Fest in various colleges of Mumbai and Kolkata, which brought a good fraction of the total participation.
8. Responsible for sponsorship deals worth Rs. 1.55 lakhs.
9. Got articles in the national edition Times of India.
10. Designed the logistics of newly introduced events Kharagshetra and Twisted Grades that saw a combined participation of more than 400.
11. Participation in Inter Hall events of Choreography and Ad design during second year. ]
12. Volunteer of Spring Fest 2008, in Tagore Open Air Theatre.
13. Member of Inter Hall Hockey Team of Madan Mohan Malviya Hall of Residence in First Year.
14. Participation in Winter Robotics Workshop under Technology Robotics society and successfully designed a path follower
15. Finalist in Nightshift in Kshitij 2008, out of 600 finalists

Proposals:

1. To obtain recognition of various Open IIT events and events in Spring Fest from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, and organizations like British Council and US Embassy and to obtain recognition for Spring Fest as the “NATIONAL YOUTH FESTIVAL” by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports.
2. To organize workshops of Dramatics and Dance and weekly Music Classes under the Technology Students’ Gymkhana. To facilitate the Technology Dance Society practice, a set of collapsible mirrors will be installed in the Old Gymkhana. I will also initiate a Film Making Club which shall be followed up by an Open IIT event on Film Making.
3. To have Go-Karting as an event in Spring Fest 2010.
